4.2 Konekte fil tès yo
Connect the test leads to the appropriate input terminals on the tester. For most measurements, the red lead connects to the "LINE" terminal and the black lead to the "EARTH" terminal. For specific measurements like AC/DC voltage, refer to the relevant operating instructions.
5. Operasyon Enstriksyon
5.1 Power On/Off
Peze epi kenbe la POUVWA bouton pou 2 segonn pou limen oswa etenn aparèy la.
5.2 Mezi rezistans izolasyon
This function is used to measure the insulation resistance of various electrical equipment and insulating materials.

Figure 5.1: The MH13 tester connected to a motor for insulation resistance measurement, demonstrating the high voltage output capability.
- Ensure the circuit under test is de-energized and safely isolated.
- Connect the test leads to the two ends of the component or circuit you wish to test.
- Chwazi vol pwodiksyon an vletage (250V, 500V, 1000V, 2000V, or 2500V) using the Up/Down arrow buttons.
- Peze a TÈS button to initiate the measurement. The red light on the TEST button will illuminate.
- The insulation resistance value will be displayed on the LCD.
- After the measurement, the device will automatically discharge the circuit. Do not touch the test leads until the discharge is complete.
Note: The device has a high voltage indication to alert users during testing.
5.3 AC/DC Voltage Mezi
The MH13 can also measure AC and DC voltages within the range of 10V to 600V.

Figure 5.2: Illustration of how to connect the test leads for measuring AC voltage (left) and DC voltage (right) using the MH13 tester.
- In the standby interface, short press the CHWAZI button to enter the AC voltage function. Press it again to switch to the DC voltage fonksyon.
- Adjust the gear to the ACV or DCV voltage gear for measurement.
- Insert the test lead plug into the appropriate terminals (AC and G for AC, DC and G for DC).
- Vol latage reading will be displayed on the LCD.
5.4 Absorption Ratio (DAR) and Polarization Index (PI)
The MH13 supports the calculation of Absorption Ratio (DAR) and Polarization Index (PI), which are crucial for assessing the quality of insulation.

Figure 5.3: Explanation of Absorption Ratio (DAR) measurement, showing 15-second and 1-minute insulation resistance readings and the calculation formula.

Figure 5.4: Explanation of Polarization Index (PI) measurement, showing 1-minute and 10-minute insulation resistance readings and the calculation formula.
To perform DAR/PI tests:
- Set up for insulation resistance measurement as described in Section 5.2.
- Peze a PI/DAR button to initiate the test. The device will automatically compute and display the DAR and PI values based on timed measurements.
- Refer to the judgment standards provided in the product documentation for interpreting the results.
5.5 Data Hold and Storage
The MH13 can store up to 100 sets of measured insulation resistance values.

Figure 5.5: The display showing multiple stored data sets, indicating the device's 100-set data storage capability.
- Done kenbe: During a measurement, single press the KENBE bouton an pou bloke lekti aktyèl la sou ekran an. Peze ankò pou lage.
- Depo done: Apre yon mezi, peze bouton an MEM READ button to save the data.
- View Stored Data: Peze a MEM READ button to enter data browsing mode. Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to navigate through stored data groups.
- Delete Stored Data: Refer to the full manual for instructions on deleting stored data, if applicable.
5.6 Signal Shielding for Measurement Accuracy
To minimize errors caused by "word jumping" phenomena in measurements, especially with sensitive insulation tests, utilize the signal shielding wire.

Figure 5.6: The MH13 tester connected with a signal shielding wire, demonstrating how to reduce measurement errors by connecting the inner jack to the cable shell.
When a serious word jumping phenomenon occurs, insert the signal shielding wire's inner jack into the "G" (Guard) terminal. Connect the other end of the shielding wire to the cable shell or the inner insulation of the core to eliminate the error.
