2. Enstalasyon ak Enstalasyon
Proper installation is crucial for accurate cadence measurement. Follow these steps to install the cadence transmitter and magnet on your bicycle.
2.1 Eleman
- Cadence Transmitter Unit
- Pedal Magnet
- Mounting Hardware (e.g., zip ties or rubber bands, not always included but typically required)
2.2 Etap enstalasyon yo
- Attach the Cadence Transmitter: Securely mount the cadence transmitter unit to the chainstay of your bicycle. Ensure it is positioned so that the 'SENSOR' side faces the crank arm. Use the provided mounting hardware to fasten it firmly, preventing movement during cycling.
- Attach the Pedal Magnet: Affix the pedal magnet to the inside of your left crank arm. The magnet should be positioned to pass directly by the 'SENSOR' area of the transmitter unit with each pedal revolution.
- Ajiste aliyman: The cadence transmitter features a swivel function. Adjust the angle of the transmitter so that its 'SENSOR' surface is parallel to the pedal magnet as it passes. The optimal distance between the magnet and the sensor is typically 2-5 mm. Rotate the crank arm slowly to verify consistent proximity.
- Pair with Bike Computer: Refer to your compatible SIGMA bike computer's manual for specific instructions on pairing the cadence transmitter. Generally, this involves activating a search function on the computer while the transmitter is active (e.g., by rotating the pedals).
3. Operasyon Enstriksyon
Once installed and paired, the SIGMA SPORT Cadence Transmitter operates automatically when you begin cycling.
3.1 Aktivasyon otomatik
The transmitter is designed to activate automatically when it detects the pedal magnet passing by. There are no manual power buttons on the transmitter itself for daily use.
3.2 Transmisyon Done
The transmitter wirelessly sends cadence data to your compatible SIGMA bike computer using the STS (SIGMA Transmission System) protocol. Ensure your bike computer is set to receive cadence data.
3.3 Konpatibilite
This cadence transmitter is compatible with the following SIGMA bike computer models and all previous models with an STS pedal cadence sensor:
- BC 14.16 STS
- BC 14.16 STS CAD
- BC 16.16 STS
- BC 16.16 STS CAD
- BC 23.16 STS
- Sigma Topline Series 2009/2012
4. Antretyen
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your cadence transmitter.
4.1 Netwayaj
Wipe the transmitter and magnet with a damp twal pou retire pousyè tè ak debri. Evite itilize pwodui chimik piman bouk oswa pwodui netwayaj abrazif.
4.2 Ranplasman batri
The transmitter is powered by a lithium battery with an approximate life of 1.5 years. When the battery is low, your bike computer may indicate a weak signal or inconsistent readings. Refer to the specific instructions for opening the transmitter unit and replacing the battery (typically a coin cell battery).
4.3 Enpèmeyablite
The unit is rated IPX8, meaning it is protected against continuous immersion in water. However, avoid prolonged submersion and ensure the battery compartment is properly sealed after replacement to maintain its waterproof integrity.
NAN. Depanaj
If you experience issues with your cadence transmitter, consult the following common problems and solutions.
5.1 No Cadence Reading / Inconsistent Readings
- Tcheke aliyman: Ensure the pedal magnet passes within 2-5 mm of the transmitter's sensor area. Adjust the swivel function of the transmitter for optimal alignment.
- Tcheke batri: A low battery can cause intermittent or no readings. Replace the battery if it's old or if your bike computer indicates a low battery.
- Repare aparèy la: Try re-pairing the cadence transmitter with your bike computer. Refer to your bike computer's manual for pairing instructions.
- Entèferans: Ensure there are no strong magnetic fields or other wireless devices operating very close to the transmitter that could cause interference.
- Atachman fèm: Verify that both the transmitter and magnet are securely attached and not moving during cycling.
5.2 Transmitter Not Detected by Bike Computer
- Aktive Transmetè a: Rotate the pedals to activate the transmitter before attempting to pair.
- Pwoksimite: Ensure the bike computer is within range of the transmitter during the pairing process.
- Nivo batri: A completely depleted battery will prevent the transmitter from being detected.
