1. Tempo Control
Adjusts the overall playback speed of your patterns. Rotate clockwise for faster tempo, counter-clockwise for slower.
2. Instrument Selection Knobs (Accent, Bass Drum, Snare Drum, L.H. Tom, Cymbal/Clap, O.C. Hi Hat)
Each knob controls the level or characteristic of its respective drum voice. For example, the Bass Drum knob adjusts the bass drum's volume, while the Accent knob controls the intensity of accented steps.
3. Select Knob
Used in conjunction with the Track and Instrument switches to select specific tracks or drum instruments for editing or playback.
4. Track and Instrument Switches
These switches allow you to navigate between different tracks (patterns) and select individual drum instruments (BD, SD, LT, HT, CY/CP, OH, CH) for programming.
5. Mode Selector (Write, Play, Pattern)
Determines the operational mode of the RD-6:
- Ekri: For creating and editing patterns.
- Jwe: For playing back patterns.
- Modèl: For selecting and chaining patterns.
6. Distortion Section (Distortion, Tone, Level)
Engage the built-in distortion effect using the ON/OFF switch. The Distortion knob controls the amount of distortion, Tone adjusts the tonal character of the distorted sound, and Level controls the output volume of the distorted signal.

8. 16-Step Sequencer Buttons
These buttons are used for programming drum hits on each step of a pattern. They also serve as pattern selection buttons in Pattern mode.

Selects the synchronization source (internal, MIDI, USB).
11. Trigger Outputs (LT, HT)
Dedicated trigger outputs for connecting to external analog synthesizers or sequencers.
12. Sync In/Out Jacks
Used for synchronizing the RD-6 with other analog gear using clock pulses.

14. Voice Outputs (OH/CH, CY/CP, LT/HT, SD, BD)
Individual analog outputs for each drum voice, allowing for external processing and mixing.

16. Start/Stop Jack
External control input for starting and stopping the sequencer.
17. MIDI In/Out/Thru Ports

Enstalasyon
- Debake: Carefully remove the RD-6 from its packaging. Ensure all components, including the unit and the power adapter, are present. A protective bag is included for storage.

- For general monitoring, connect headphones to the Phones jack (13) on the front panel.

- For individual drum voice processing, connect cables from the Voice Outputs (14) to separate channels on your mixer or audio interface.
- MIDI/USB Connection:
- To connect to other MIDI hardware, use standard 5-pin MIDI cables for the MIDI In/Out/Thru ports (17).
- To connect to a computer for MIDI control or firmware updates, use a USB cable to connect the USB port (18) to your computer.
- Trigger Outputs: If using external analog gear, connect cables from the Trigger Outputs (11) on the front panel to the trigger inputs of your other devices.
Operating the RD-6

- Ensure the RD-6 is powered on.
- Set the Mode selector (5) to Jwe.
- Press the Start/Stop button (9) to begin playback of the currently selected pattern.
- Adjust the Tempo knob (1) to change the speed.
- Adjust the Volume knob (7) to set the overall output level.
Pattern Programming (Write Mode)
- Set the Mode selector (5) to Ekri.
- Use the Track switch (4) and Select knob (3) to choose an empty or existing pattern to edit.
- Use the Instrument switch (4) to select the drum voice you wish to program (e.g., BD for Bass Drum).
- While the sequencer is running or stopped, press the 16-step sequencer buttons (8) to place or remove drum hits for the selected instrument on each step. The illuminated buttons indicate active steps.
- Repeat for other drum voices.
- To save your pattern, refer to the specific instructions in the full manual for saving procedures, often involving holding a button and pressing another.
Using Distortion
- Locate the Distortion section (6).
- Flip the ON/OFF switch to ON to engage the distortion.
