The FIBARO Double Smart Module is designed to be placed in a wall box, typically behind a traditional wall switch. It acts as an intermediary, receiving control signals from the switch and then controlling the connected load.

It is recommended to use wall boxes with a depth of 65mm. However, smaller boxes with a depth of 45mm can also be used if sufficient space is available behind the switch, considering the size of the traditional switch and any additional cabling.

After successful installation and inclusion into your Z-Wave network, the FIBARO Double Smart Module can be operated in several ways:
- Via Existing Wall Switch: Continue to use your traditional wall switch as normal. The module interprets the switch's action and controls the connected load.
- Via Z-Wave Controller: Use your Z-Wave hub's interface (e.g., smartphone app, web interface) to remotely turn the connected devices on or off.
- Automated Scenes: Integrate the module into Z-Wave scenes or automations. For example, you can set up a scene to turn on garden lights at sunset or activate a sprinkler system based on a schedule or sensor input.
