- Pwoteksyon je: This helmet provides protection against ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation, even in the light state. However, always ensure the auto-darkening function is operational before welding.
- Enspeksyon: Before each use, inspect the helmet for any damage, cracks, or loose parts. Ensure the outer and inner protective lenses are clean and free from scratches. Replace any damaged components immediately.
- Bon anfòm: Adjust the headgear to ensure a snug and comfortable fit. The helmet should not obstruct your vision or fall off during use.
- Vantilasyon: Always weld in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling hazardous fumes.
- Limit Tanperati: Do not expose the helmet to extreme temperatures outside its specified operating range.
- Netwayaj: Use only recommended cleaning agents and methods to avoid damaging the lens or helmet material.
- Modifikasyon: Pa modifye kas la oswa konpozan li yo. Modifikasyon san otorizasyon ka konpwomèt sekirite epi anile garanti a.
3. Konpozan ak Karakteristik
The ESAB Savage A40 welding helmet integrates several key components and features for enhanced performance and user comfort:
- Filtè Oto-Fossisman (ADF): Provides automatic shade adjustment upon arc ignition.
- Teknoloji Vrè Koulè: Offers a brighter view and enhanced color definition for improved visibility of the weld puddle and surrounding environment.
- External Shade Adjustment: Easily adjust the shade level between DIN 9 and DIN 13 without removing the helmet.
- Internal Sensitivity Control: Adaptable feature for fine-tuning the lens reaction to arc light, especially useful for low amperage TIG welding.
- Internal Delay Control: Adjusts how long the lens remains dark after the welding arc stops. A short delay is ideal for tack welding, while a longer delay is beneficial for high amperage soude.
- Four Arc Sensors: Ensures a higher and more reliable auto-darkening response.
- Gwo Viewing Zòn: A 100 x 50 mm (3.93 x 1.96 in.) viewing area provides a wide field of vision and increased spatial awareness.
- Bouton moulen ekstèn: Conveniently switch to Shade 4 Grind Mode without lifting the helmet.

4.3 Enstalasyon/Verifikasyon Batri
The ESAB Savage A40 helmet uses 1 CR2 battery (included). The helmet is typically ready for use out of the box. To check battery status or replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment, usually on the ADF unit.
- Ensure the battery is correctly inserted with the correct polarity.
- A low battery indicator may be present on the ADF. If illuminated, replace the battery.
5. Operasyon Enstriksyon
Familiarize yourself with the helmet's controls before beginning any welding task.
5.1 Power On/Off
The auto-darkening filter is typically solar-powered with battery assist and activates automatically when exposed to light. There is no manual on/off switch for the ADF itself. The helmet will enter a low-power state when not in use.
5.2 Shade Adjustment
The external knob on the side of the helmet allows for quick adjustment of the welding shade.
- Rotate the external knob to select a shade level between DIN 9 and DIN 13.
- Choose the appropriate shade based on your welding process and ampGade tablo koulè soude estanda yo pou gidans.
5.3 Kontwòl sansiblite
The sensitivity control, located inside the helmet, adjusts how readily the ADF reacts to the welding arc.
- Adjust the sensitivity knob (labeled "SENSITIVITY") to a higher setting for welding low amperage TIG or in environments with low ambient light.
- Lower the sensitivity in bright environments or when experiencing unwanted darkening from other light sources.
5.4 Delay Control
The delay control, also located inside the helmet, determines how long the lens remains dark after the welding arc ceases.
- Mete yon short delay for quick tack welding to speed up work.
- Mete yon longer delay for high amperage welding to protect your eyes from residual glow of the weld puddle.
5.5 Mòd Moulen
The external grind button allows for easy switching to grind mode without removing the helmet.
- Press the external "Grind" button to activate Shade 4 Grind Mode. The lens will remain in a light shade suitable for grinding operations.
- Press the button again to return to welding mode.

6. Antretyen
Antretyen regilye asire lonjevite ak pèfòmans optimal kas soude ou a.
6.1 Netwayaj
- Kokiy kas: Clean the helmet shell with a mild soap and water solution using a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Protective Lenses: Wipe the outer and inner protective lenses with a clean, soft cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a lens cleaning solution specifically designed for plastic or glass. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- ADF Filter: The auto-darkening filter itself should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. Do not immerse the ADF in water or cleaning solutions.
6.2 Lens Replacement
Replace scratched or damaged outer and inner protective lenses immediately to maintain clear vision and protection.
- Carefully remove the retaining frame or clips holding the protective lens in place.
- Remove the old lens.
- Insert the new protective lens, ensuring it is clean and free of fingerprints.
- Secure the retaining frame or clips.
6.3 Ranplasman batri
When the low battery indicator illuminates or the ADF fails to darken, replace the CR2 battery.
- Locate the battery compartment on the ADF unit.
- Louvri konpatiman an epi retire ansyen pil CR2 a.
- Mete yon nouvo pil CR2, asire w polarite a kòrèk (+/-).
- Fèmen lòj batri a byen.
