The VideoMic NTG has an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the microphone.
- Connect the supplied USB-C to USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the microphone.

- Slide the cold shoe mount of the SM7-R into your camera's hot shoe or a compatible accessory mount.
- Tighten the locking wheel on the SM7-R to secure it in place.
- Ensure the microphone is firmly seated in the Rycote Lyre suspension.

The VideoMic NTG features an auto-sensing 3.5mm output and a USB-C output for broad compatibility.
Connecting to Cameras (3.5mm TRS)
- Use the supplied SC10 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS cable.
- Connect one end of the SC10 cable to the 3.5mm output on the VideoMic NTG.
- Connect the other end to the microphone input on your camera. The microphone will automatically detect the camera connection.
Connecting to Mobile Devices (3.5mm TRRS)
- Use the supplied SC10 3.5mm TRRS to TRRS cable.
- Connect one end of the SC10 cable to the 3.5mm output on the VideoMic NTG.
- Connect the other end to the headphone/microphone jack on your smartphone or tablet. The microphone will automatically detect the mobile connection.
- Note: For Lightning-equipped iOS devices, an SC15 or SC19 cable (sold separately) is required. Ensure your VideoMic NTG firmware is up to date for full compatibility.
Connecting to Computers/Tablets/Smartphones (USB-C)
- Use the supplied USB-C to USB-C cable.
- Connect one end of the USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the VideoMic NTG.
- Connect the other end to a USB-C port on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

1. Powering On / Off

The VideoMic NTG features several digital switches and a variable gain control for precise audio adjustment.

- Akeri bouton kontwòl: This infinitely variable knob allows you to precisely adjust the output level of the microphone. Rotate clockwise to increase gain, counter-clockwise to decrease. This control is active for both 3.5mm and USB outputs, though for USB, fine-tuning may also be done via software.
- Filtè High-Pass (HPF): Press the HPF button to cycle through filter settings (Off, 75Hz, 150Hz). This reduces low-frequency noise like rumble or air conditioning hum.
- -20dB Pad: Press the PAD button to engage a -20dB attenuation. Use this when recording very loud sound sources to prevent clipping.
- High Frequency Boost: Press the HF button to engage a high-frequency boost. This can enhance clarity and intelligibility, especially when using a windshield or in situations where high frequencies are attenuated.
- Chanèl Sekirite: When enabled (via the power button, short press after power on), the microphone outputs a second audio channel at -20dB. This provides a backup in case the main channel clips due to unexpected loud sounds. This feature is primarily for 3.5mm output.
- dB Peak Warning Light: This LED illuminates red when the audio signal is clipping. Adjust the gain control or engage the -20dB pad if this light frequently illuminates.
3. Siveyans Odyo
When using the VideoMic NTG as a USB microphone, the 3.5mm jack functions as a headphone output for direct monitoring.
- Connect headphones to the 3.5mm output jack on the microphone.
- You will hear the microphone's input signal directly, allowing you to monitor your audio in real-time.
