5. Enstalasyon (Enstalasyon)

The rectangular design of the RecPro 45 Gallon RV Water Tank simplifies installation. It is designed to fit common RV configurations, often as a direct replacement for original manufacturer tanks.

5.2. Mounting the Tank

  1. Position the tank in its designated location.
  2. Secure the tank using appropriate straps, brackets, or a custom-built enclosure. Ensure it cannot shift during vehicle movement.

The tank features a 1-inch vent tube in the center to facilitate filling and prevent airlocks. Connect your RV's fresh water system to the tank using the provided fittings and appropriate plumbing lines (not included).

  • Inlet: Connect the fresh water fill line to the tank's inlet port.

  • Vantilasyon: Ensure the 1-inch vent tube is connected to an external vent or an overflow system to allow air to escape during filling and prevent vacuum lock during draining.
  • Drenaj: Install a drain valve at the lowest point of your plumbing system connected to the tank for easy draining.

6. Operasyon

  3. Slowly open the water supply. The 1-inch vent tube will allow air to escape as the tank fills.

  5. Close the water supply and disconnect the hose.

6.2. Using Water from the Tank

Once filled, the water from the tank is supplied to your RV's plumbing system via the water pump. Turn on your RV's water pump to pressurize the system and draw water from the tank.

6.3. Draining the Tank

To drain the tank, open the designated fresh water drain valve located at the lowest point of your RV's fresh water system. Allow all water to empty completely, especially before winterization or long-term storage.

7. Antretyen

7.1. Cleaning and Sanitization

It is recommended to clean and sanitize your fresh water tank at least once a year, or more frequently if water quality is a concern or after prolonged storage.

  2. Prepare a sanitizing solution using household bleach (sodium hypochlorite) at a ratio of 1/4 cup per 15 gallons of tank capacity. For a 45-gallon tank, use approximately 3/4 cup of bleach.
  3. Pour the bleach solution into the tank.
  4. Fill the tank completely with potable water.
  5. Run water through all faucets (hot and cold) until you smell bleach, then close the faucets.
  6. Allow the solution to sit in the tank and plumbing for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  7. Drain the entire system.
  8. Refill the tank with fresh potable water and flush the system by running water through all faucets until the bleach smell is gone. You may need to repeat this step several times.

Before storing your RV in freezing temperatures, the fresh water tank and entire plumbing system must be properly winterized to prevent damage from freezing water.

  1. Drain the fresh water tank completely.
  2. Bypass the water heater (if applicable).
  3. Pump RV-specific non-toxic antifreeze through the entire plumbing system until it comes out of all faucets and fixtures.
  4. Consult your RV's owner's manual for detailed winterization procedures specific to your vehicle.
