The SilverStone ES02-PCIE is a convenient remote switch kit designed to wirelessly turn on/off and reset a computer. It utilizes standard 2.4GHz RF wireless technology, a PCI Express X1 slot, and connects to the power/reset pin headers on a motherboard. Follow these steps to install the SilverStone ES02-PCIE kit into your computer system.

  1. Prepare Sistèm ou an:

    Before beginning, ensure your computer is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Open your computer case to access the motherboard.

  2. Install the PCIe Receiver Card:

    Locate an available PCI Express x1 slot on your motherboard. Carefully insert the ES02-PCIE card into the slot until it is firmly seated. Secure the card with a screw to the case chassis.

  3. Connect to Motherboard Headers:

    Identify the Power Switch (PWR_SW) and Reset Switch (RESET_SW) pin headers on your motherboard. Refer to your motherboard's manual for the exact location and pinout. The ES02-PCIE includes a Y-cable. Disconnect your case's existing power and reset cables from the motherboard headers. Connect the ES02-PCIE's Y-cable to these motherboard headers. Then, connect your case's original power and reset cables to the corresponding connectors on the ES02-PCIE Y-cable. Ensure the polarity (positive/negative) is correct; typically, the triangle symbol on the connector indicates the positive pin.

    Nòt: Your motherboard must have the "Resume by PCI-E Device" function enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings for the remote power-on feature to work correctly. Consult your motherboard manual for instructions on enabling this feature.

The remote control requires a CR2032 battery for operation. If the remote's indicator light does not illuminate or the computer does not respond to commands, the battery may need replacement.
