This manual provides essential instructions for the Canon Portrait & Travel 2 Lens Kit. This kit includes two versatile lenses: the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens and the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens, along with accessories designed to enhance your photography experience. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your new lenses to ensure proper operation and care.

Attaching a Lens to Your Camera:

3. Align the red or white index mark on the lens with the corresponding mark on your camera's lens mount. For EF lenses (like the 50mm), align the red dot. For EF-S lenses (like the 10-18mm), align the white square.

Detaching a Lens:

Using UV Filters:

The kit includes a 49mm UV filter for the EF 50mm lens and a 67mm UV filter for the EF-S 10-18mm lens. These filters screw onto the front of the lens to provide protection against dust, scratches, and UV light. Carefully screw the correct size filter onto the front thread of its respective lens until snug, but do not overtighten.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens:

• Focus Mode Switch: Set the switch on the side of the lens to "AF" for autofocus or "MF" for manual focus.

• STM Motor: The Stepper Motor (STM) provides smooth and quiet autofocus, which is particularly beneficial for video recording.
• Focus-by-Wire: This lens uses electronic manual focus. When the camera is off, the focus ring will not operate.

Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens:

• Focus Mode Switch: Set the switch on the side of the lens to "AF" for autofocus or "MF" for manual focus.
• Chanjman Estabilizatè Imaj (IS): Set the switch to "ON" to activate the optical image stabilizer, which helps reduce blur caused by camera shake, especially useful in lower light or when shooting handheld. Set to "OFF" when using a tripod.
• Zoom Ring: Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the focal length between 10mm (ultra-wide) and 18mm (wide).
• STM Motor: Similar to the 50mm, the STM motor ensures quiet and smooth autofocus, ideal for video.

Note: EF-S lenses are designed exclusively for Canon EOS cameras with an APS-C sensor. They are not compatible with full-frame EOS cameras (e.g., Canon 6D, 5D series) and attempting to mount them may cause damage.
