Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect all parts for any signs of damage during shipping. Ensure all listed components are present before proceeding with installation.

Position the filter and pump system on a firm, level surface, preferably concrete, as close to the pool as possible. Ensure the location allows for proper drainage and is protected from direct weather exposure if necessary. Allow sufficient space around the unit for maintenance and service.

- Connect the pool's skimmer line (suction) to the inlet of the pump.
- Connect the pump's discharge port to the filter's inlet port.

- Ensure all connections are tightened appropriately to prevent leaks.

Connect the 3 ft NEMA cord from the pump to a properly grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the electrical supply matches the pump's voltage requirements. Always use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for pool equipment for safety.

Before starting the pump, ensure the pump basket is filled with water. Open any air relief valves on the filter. Turn on the pump and allow it to prime. Once a steady stream of water is flowing from the return line, close the air relief valve.

Regularly check the flush-mounted stainless steel pressure gauge on the filter. A rising pressure indicates that the filter cartridge is accumulating debris and requires cleaning. The normal operating pressure will be established after the initial startup.

When the pressure gauge reading increases by 8-10 PSI above its clean operating pressure, or when water flow noticeably decreases, it's time to clean the filter cartridge. Follow these steps:

- Remove the heavy-duty lid using the handle.
- Carefully lift out the cartridge element.

- Inspect the cartridge for damage and replace if necessary.
- Reinsert the clean cartridge, replace the lid, and secure it.
- Re-prime the pump and restart the system.
Pump Basket Cleaning
Periodically check and clean the pump's pre-filter basket to remove leaves and large debris. This prevents clogging and maintains optimal pump performance.
Winterization
Before freezing temperatures arrive, drain all water from the filter and pump. Disconnect hoses and store the unit in a dry, protected area to prevent freeze damage.
