The iKiKin AP-8 Head Up Display (HUD) is a multi-function smart gauge designed to provide real-time vehicle data directly in your line of sight. It integrates OBD2, GPS, and Slope Meter functionalities to offer comprehensive driving information and safety warnings. This manual provides detailed instructions for installation, operation, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal use of your device.

2. Enstalasyon ak Enstalasyon

The iKiKin AP-8 offers a plug-and-play installation process. Follow these steps to set up your device:

  1. Locate the OBD2 Interface: The OBD2 interface is typically located on the driver's side, approximately 30 cm from the middle of the instrument panel.
  2. Konekte kab OBD a: Turn the vehicle ignition off. Connect one end of the provided OBD cable to the vehicle's OBD2 interface.
  3. Connect to Smart Gauge: Connect the other end of the OBD cable to the Smart Gauge (HUD).
  4. Wout kab la: Carefully hide the OBD cable in the A-pillar or along the dashboard for a neat installation.
  5. Pouvwa sou: Turn the vehicle ignition on. The HUD should power on automatically.

The iKiKin AP-8 features multiple display interfaces and operating modes to suit various driving needs.

3.1 Display Modes: OBD2, GPS, and Slope Meter

The device supports three primary data acquisition systems:

  • Mòd OBD2: Connects to your vehicle's On-Board Diagnostics system to display engine-related data.
  • Mòd GPS: Uses satellite signals to display speed, time, and other location-based data.
  • Mèt pant: Measures the vehicle's roll and pitch angles, useful for off-road driving.

3.2 Switching to GPS Mode

To switch from OBD2 mode to GPS mode:

  1. From the normal display interface, long press the [OK] button for 5 seconds pou antre nan paramèt.

3.4 GPS Display Items

In GPS mode, the HUD provides navigation and location-based data:

3.5 Slope Meter Function

The integrated slope meter provides real-time information on your vehicle's tilt angles, which is particularly useful for off-road driving or navigating uneven terrain.

  • Pitch Angle: Indicates the vehicle's front-to-back tilt (uphill/downhill).

3.6 Performance Tests

The AP-8 HUD includes functions for performance testing:

  • Tès Akselerasyon: Measures the time taken to accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H.
  • Tès fren: Measures the braking distance and time when stopping from 100 KM/H.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your iKiKin AP-8 HUD, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Netwayaj: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display screen and device body. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface.
  • Tanperati: Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for extended periods, as this can affect its electronic components.
  • Imidite: Keep the device dry. Avoid contact with water or other liquids.
  • Depo: When not in use for a long time, store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
