Setting up the Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier

The Virtual Wall Barrier creates an invisible barrier that Roomba will not cross. Install the two included AA batteries. You can select one of two modes:

  • Virtual mòd mòd: When the switch is in the up position, it creates a linear barrier up to 10 feet (3 meters) long. This is ideal for blocking doorways or open areas.
  • Mòd Halo: When the switch is in the down position, it creates a circular protective zone around the barrier, approximately 2 feet (0.6 meters) in diameter. This is useful for protecting pet bowls, delicate items, or floor plants.

Place the Virtual Wall Barrier on the floor in the area you wish to restrict. Ensure the light on the barrier blinks periodically to confirm it is active.

Connecting to the iRobot HOME App

For enhanced control and scheduling, download the iRobot HOME app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Roomba to your home Wi-Fi network. The app allows you to start, stop, schedule cleaning cycles, and monitor your robot's status.

Understanding Cleaning Behavior

The Roomba 692 utilizes a 3-Stage Cleaning System: loosening, lifting, and suctioning dirt. Dual Multi-Surface Brushes work together to grab dirt from carpets and hard floors, while an Edge-Sweeping Brush cleans corners and wall edges. Advanced sensors enable Roomba to navigate under and around furniture. Cliff Detect sensors prevent the robot from falling down stairs or other drop-offs.

The filter is located in the dust bin. Remove it and tap it against a trash can to dislodge debris. Replace the filter every 2-3 months, or as needed, to maintain suction performance. Do not wash the filter.
