  • T-Slot Brackets: These slide into the T-slots of Thule TracRac and Xsporter bars.
  • Flat Bar Brackets: These provide the lower clamping surface against the tent's mounting rails.

Follow these steps to properly install your Tepui rooftop tent using the Thule Xsporter Adapter kit:

  1. Prepare the Tent: Remove any existing mounting hardware from your Tepui rooftop tent. Ensure the tent's mounting rails are clean and free of obstructions.
  2. Position T-Slot Brackets: Slide the T-slot brackets into the T-channels of your Thule TracRac or Xsporter crossbars. Position them to align with the mounting points on your rooftop tent.
  3. Place Tent on Rack: Carefully lift the rooftop tent and place it onto the Thule rack system, aligning the tent's mounting rails over the T-slot brackets.
  4. Mete boulon yo: From inside the tent (or from the top of the tent's mounting rails), insert the long hex bolts down through the tent's mounting rails and through the holes in the T-slot brackets.
  5. Attach Flat Bar Brackets: Underneath the crossbars, place the flat bar brackets onto the exposed threads of the bolts.
  6. Secure with Nuts: Thread the Nyloc nuts onto the bolts and tighten them securely. It is recommended to tighten them evenly across all mounting points to ensure a balanced and stable connection. Do not overtighten, but ensure there is no movement.
  7. Verifye Sekirite: After tightening all hardware, gently shake the tent to confirm it is securely attached to the rack system and there is no play.

Always ensure all bolts and nuts are securely tightened before driving. Periodically check the tightness of the mounting hardware, especially after the first few uses and before long trips.

  • Before each trip, visually inspect all mounting points to ensure the adapter components are still securely fastened.
  • Check for any signs of wear or damage to the bolts, nuts, or brackets.
  • Ensure the tent is properly closed and secured according to its own manual before driving.

Issue: Bolts appear too long or too short.

  • Solisyon: The Thule XADAPT14 kit is designed for specific Thule and Tepui compatibility. Verify that you are using the correct adapter kit for your specific tent and rack models. In some rare cases, minor adjustments (e.g., adding washers if bolts are too long, or ensuring proper compression) might be needed, but generally, the provided hardware should fit.

Issue: Difficulty sliding T-slot brackets into rack channels.

  • Solisyon: Ensure the T-slot brackets are oriented correctly. They should slide smoothly into the T-channel. Check for any debris or obstructions within the rack channel.
