Behringer DI800 V2 Signal Direct Box Instruction Manual

Professional 8-Channel DI-Box

1. Entwodiksyon

The Behringer DI800 V2 is a professional 8-channel direct injection (DI) box designed to connect instruments or other audio sources directly to a mixing console or amplifier. It converts unbalanced, high-impedance signals into balanced, low-impedance signals, suitable for long cable runs without signal degradation. The DI800 V2 offers flexible power options, including mains power or phantom power from a mixing console, and features an ultra-flat frequency response for transparent audio reproduction.

  • INPUT (1-8): 1/4" TS/TRS input jacks for connecting instruments or line-level sources.
  • LINK (1-8): 1/4" TS/TRS output jacks for connecting the input signal to an amplifier or monitor. This output is parallel to the input.
  • -20dB PAD (1-8): Attenuates the input signal by 20dB. Use this for high-output sources to prevent clipping.
  • GROUND LIFT (1-8): Disconnects the ground connection between the input and output, which can help eliminate hum or ground loops.
  • Pouvwa switch: Limen oswa etenn inite a.
  • PHANTOM POWER LED: Illuminates when phantom power is detected on an XLR output.
  • Siyal ki ap dirije: Limen lè gen yon siyal opinyon prezan.

  • BAL OUT (1-8): Balanced XLR outputs for connecting to a mixing console's microphone inputs.
  • AC ENPUTT: Konektè pouvwa IEC estanda pou konekte kab pouvwa ki enkli a.

4.3 Mete aparèy la an fonksyon

The DI800 V2 can be powered in two ways:

  1. Kouran prensipal: Connect the supplied AC power cable to the AC INPUT on the rear panel and then to a suitable wall outlet.
  2. Phantom pouvwa: The unit can also be powered by 48V phantom power supplied from a mixing console via the XLR outputs. If phantom power is present on at least one XLR output, the unit will power on automatically. The PHANTOM POWER LED on the front panel will illuminate.

Nòt: If both mains power and phantom power are connected, the unit will prioritize mains power. It is recommended to use mains power for consistent operation, especially if phantom power sources are unreliable or vary.

4.4 Koneksyon

  • Connect your instrument (e.g., guitar, bass, keyboard) to an Antre jack on the front panel using a 1/4" TS or TRS cable.
  • If you need to send the signal to an amplifier or monitor on stage, connect a 1/4" TS or TRS cable from the corresponding LYEN Jack pou ou ampopinyon moun ki ap viv la.
  • Konekte a BAL SOTI XLR output on the rear panel to a microphone input on your mixing console using a balanced XLR cable.

5. Operasyon Enstriksyon

5.1 Koule siyal

The DI800 V2 takes an unbalanced, high-impedance signal from your instrument, converts it to a balanced, low-impedance signal, and sends it to your mixing console. The LINK output provides a direct, unprocessed copy of the input signal for local monitoring.

5.2 Using the -20dB Pad

If your instrument or audio source has a very high output level, the input signal to the DI800 V2 might be too strong, leading to distortion. In such cases, engage the -20dB PAD switch for the corresponding channel. This will reduce the input signal level by 20 decibels, preventing clipping and ensuring a clean signal to the mixing console.

5.3 Fonksyon Lifting Tè a

Ground loops can cause an audible hum or buzz in your audio system. The LEVE TÈ switch disconnects the ground connection between the input and output stages of the DI800 V2. If you experience hum, try engaging the GROUND LIFT switch for the affected channel. This often resolves ground loop issues without affecting the audio signal.

5.4 Monitoring Signal Presence

La SIYAL ki ap dirije for each channel illuminates when an audio signal is detected at the input. This provides a quick visual confirmation that your instrument is connected and sending a signal to the DI box.

6. Antretyen

  • Netwayaj: Dekonekte aparèy la anvan ou netwaye li. Sèvi ak yon twal mou epi sèk pou siye deyò a. Pa sèvi ak pwodui netwayaj likid oswa solvan.
  • Depo: Store the DI800 V2 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Sèvis: There are no user-serviceable parts inside the DI800 V2. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
