The Zoom H3-VR virtual reality audio recorder is a comprehensive solution for capturing and processing spatial audio for VR, AR, and mixed-reality content. Featuring a built-in Ambisonic microphone, recorder, and decoder, the H3-VR provides an all-in-one 360-audio solution. It also includes a free download of Zoom Ambisonics Player post-production software, capable of converting Ambisonics audio to 5.1ch surround sound.

The H3-VR requires 2 AA batteries for operation. To install, open the battery compartment located on the side of the device. Insert the batteries according to the polarity markings. For recording, insert a micro SD card (up to 512 GB) into the designated slot.

Operating the H3-VR

• Ambisonics: Captures full 360-degree spatial audio, ideal for VR and immersive content.
• Stereo Binaural: Records audio that simulates a 3D listening experience through headphones.
• Standard Stereo: Traditional two-channel stereo recording.

The device features onboard Ambisonics A-to-B encoding and decoding, simplifying the post-production workflow. An integrated 6-axis motion sensor automatically detects the microphone's position, ensuring correct spatial orientation.

Audio Quality Settings

Select your desired audio quality from various options, including 96kHz/24-bit for high-resolution recordings. Lower settings like 48kHz/16-bit are also available for extended recording times or smaller file gwosè.

The H3-VR offers digital zoom options for its video capabilities, including Wide, Tele, and Auto. Note that digital zoom may affect video quality, especially in low-light conditions.
