DANOPLUS KIB-73

DANOPLUS Honey Moisture Refractometer with ATC (Model KIB-73) User Manual

Model: KIB-73

1. Entwodiksyon

The DANOPLUS Honey Moisture Refractometer is a precision optical instrument designed for measuring the sugar content (Brix), Baume, and water concentration in honey, jelly, jam, and syrup. Equipped with Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), it provides accurate and reliable readings across various temperatures. This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use, calibration, and maintenance of your refractometer.

  1. Daylight Plate: Covers the prism and holds the sample.
  2. Calibration Screw: Used to adjust the zero line during calibration.
  3. Grip kawotchou: Provides a secure and comfortable hold.
  4. Ajisteman konsantre: Rotates to bring the scale into clear focus.
  5. Oculaire: Where the user looks to read the scale.

3. Enstalasyon ak Kalibrasyon

Before first use, or if you suspect inaccurate readings, calibrate the refractometer. Calibration should be performed at room temperature (approximately 20°C / 68°F).

Premye konfigirasyon

  1. Ensure the prism and daylight plate are clean and dry. Use the provided cleaning cloth.
  2. Point the daylight plate towards a bright light source (e.g., daylight or a light bulb).
  3. Look through the eyepiece and adjust the focus adjustment ring until the scale is clear.

Pwosedi Kalibrasyon

  1. Open the daylight plate.
  2. Place 2-3 drops of the provided calibration oil onto the main prism.
  3. Close the daylight plate gently, ensuring the oil spreads evenly without air bubbles.
  4. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the sample to equalize to the instrument's temperature.
  5. Point the daylight plate towards a bright light source and look through the eyepiece.
  6. Observe the boundary line between the blue and white fields. For honey refractometers, this line should align with the 78.8% Brix mark (or the specific calibration point indicated for your model, often near the middle of the scale for calibration oil).
  7. If the line is not at the correct mark, use the mini screwdriver to turn the calibration screw until the boundary line aligns precisely with the specified calibration point.
  8. After calibration, clean the prism and daylight plate thoroughly with a damp twal epi siye l avèk yon twal mou ki pa gen pousyè.

4. Operasyon Enstriksyon

Follow these steps to take accurate measurements with your refractometer:

  1. Ensure the prism and daylight plate are clean and dry.
  2. Open the daylight plate.
  3. Using a pipette, place 2-3 drops of the sample (e.g., honey, jelly, syrup) onto the main prism.
  4. Close the daylight plate gently, ensuring the sample spreads evenly across the entire surface of the prism without air bubbles.
  5. Wait approximately 30 seconds for the sample to equalize to the instrument's temperature. This is crucial for accurate readings, especially with ATC.
  6. Point the daylight plate towards a bright light source (do not look directly at the sun).
  7. Look through the eyepiece and adjust the focus adjustment ring until the scale is clear.
  8. Read the value where the boundary line between the blue and white fields crosses the scale. The scale typically shows Brix%, Baume, and Water% for honey.
  9. After each measurement, clean the prism and daylight plate thoroughly with a damp cloth and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Failure to clean properly can lead to inaccurate readings and damage to the prism.

Understanding the Scale

The refractometer features a clear, easy-to-read scale with distinct measurements for Brix, Baume, and Water content. The boundary line indicates the measurement value.

Refractometer Measurement Scale

Imaj: Yon gwo plan view of the refractometer's internal scale, showing markings for Brix%, Water%, and Baume at 20°C.

  • Brix (%): Measures the total soluble solids, primarily sugar content.
  • Baume (Be'): Another scale for measuring sugar concentration, often used for honey.
  • Water (%): Indicates the water content in the sample, critical for honey quality and storage.

5. Antretyen ak Swen

Bon antretyen asire lonjevite ak presizyon refraktomèt ou a.

  • Netwayaj: Always clean the prism and daylight plate immediately after use. Use a soft, damp cloth (preferably lint-free) to wipe off any residue. Dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Do not rinse the entire instrument under water.
  • Depo: Store the refractometer in its protective carrying case when not in use. Keep it in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Manyen: Handle the instrument with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts, as this can damage the optical components.
  • Avoid Corrosive Substances: Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents on any part of the refractometer.

NAN. Depanaj
